We Love Isaan Update – May 2008

Dear Friends & Family,

This coming Monday, Psalm will be six weeks old. We are beginning to get more sleep at night; everyone is doing ok. We are so grateful for this amazing blessing from God. It is great to be parents and we are trying to take it all in each day. Thank you for your continued prayers for our family.

We Love Isaan

We are excited with what is happening in our village at home and the vision God has placed upon our hearts. We hope to start a few small things soon within our community. We are excited to see a YWAM ministry start here and to see more and more come to know Christ through what He is doing in and through our lives. Simply put, our mission is to bring the love of Jesus Christ to the people in the surrounding communities by any means that God leads us into.

We Love Isaan is what we have decided to call our ministry. To some it is quite a statement because it is be hard to believe by most Isaan and Thai people alike. The common feeling is why would anyone love Isaan? It’s hot. Their are many difficulties in the land. But we know that God has a hope, a plan, and a future for the Isaan people. We know that God loves Isaan and He wants their land restored and lives redeemed. \

In all that we do we want to declare that God loves Isaan! We will begin by focusing on the children and the schools in our area. Please pray that this message would be heard and received throughout Isaan and they would come to know the saving love of Christ.

Please also pray for the many visitors that are planning to come through this year that they too will be a special part of this vision, if even for a short time.

A Big Request

As you have just read about our vision, you can get the idea that we will be in the northeast of Thailand (Isaan) for many years to come. Our greatest need at this time is a more permanent place to live. We have been living in Piyarat’s parents’ place since the end of February when we moved here. Piyarat’s parents live in their own place next to their house where we stay. This two room building has worked for the time being. Yet we knew even before we moved that this could not be a long term situation. Soon we will be using this building as an office and ministry center where we can do small English camps and other activities.

Shortly after arriving in Si Saket we were given a gift to buy a small piece of land adjacent to where we currently live. Our friend gave this as a starting point of having our own place here. We were so overwhelmed by this blessing and just amazed at God’s provision.

It seems we have a lot of large needs this year and this seems like a mountain to us. Yet we are trusting God that He has already provided for the land, He will certainly provide for what is left. We plan to build a small simple home, one that will fit our family and not set us apart from the village where we live. We are budgeting approximately $20,000 USD to build this house.

Will you please pray with us as we wait to see God provide? Would you consider giving towards the construction of our home? Reply to this email and we can send you information on how to give tax-deductible gifts (case.wright@gmail.com).

If you have any questions about our plans or anything else in this email, please feel free to write to us. We really love hearing from friends and family all over the world. If you would like to know about other ministry needs or how you might come to visit us, write and we’ll fill you in.

Thanks again so much for your prayers and incredible friendship,

Casey, Piyarat, and Psalm Wright
